I know that this has been covered a couple of times, but I still have a question. I want to install BP-BGT on a drive other that my C drive. From what I have read this may cause problems. I can see that it is a problem if some things are on the C-drive and others are on a different drive, but if I intend to install everything on my D-drive, will this cause a problem, and if it will what do I need to do.

I have read other posts(mostly be The Warlock), but I just get confused by what they say.

I'm sorry to be a pain, I just don't want to waste a lot of time. If it is possible, what changes if any do I need to make in the install process?

It's ok.
So long as the BG1 and BG2 are on the same drive

Heck, they don't even have to be on the same drive.

I had BG2 on my c: drive, BG1 on my d: drive, and installed BP/BGT/NEJ onto my BG2 installation. I made it through BG1 (BGT) with no problems. I've had a couple of difficulties since then, but not related to drive letters.

The trick is you want BG1 to have a short, simple path name so you can use that when you have to enter the path name in the BGT installation process.

EDIT: I see from another thread that everybody and their dog says that it all has to be on the same drive. So, feel free to disregard this post. Just because it worked for me is no reason to expect it to work for anyone else I guess.

Here is what i did to make it work

Install BG1 in C:\baldur
Install BG2 in E:\Baldurs Gate Trilogy

> Note install to D:\BG II or what ever you like <

Using the instructions at the top of this Forum. to set it all up.
Be four you run the Install
Go E:\Baldurs Gate Trilogy\BGT3\root dir.
I put a copy the XPpatcher.EXE in you'r C:\baldur\Temp dir.

At the start i leave you'r Explorer open
I run the install just like the instructions
Run the automated install as the XPpatcher appears at the end of BGT DOS window.

When BGT ends. The XPpatcher appears.
I close the XPpatcher window but i leave the BGT DOS window open.
I highlight Explore on the task bar & go to my E:\Baldurs Gate Trilogy dir.
Move BGMaine.exe to my C:\baldur\Temp dir.
Go to you'r C:\baldur\Temp dir.
Run XPpatcher and edit my BGMaine.exe seting it to 100 xp
Move BGMaine.exe back to my E:\Baldurs Gate Trilogy dir.
Go back to my E:\Baldurs Gate Trilogy\ dir.
Now i close my BGT DOS window and the automated install start's up again.
I run the rest of the install just like the instructions.

The trouble is the XPpatcher.exe has to be on > C < drive.

I hope this well help you .
