Goddammit, STOP. LUGGING. ALL. THIS. GOLD. AROUND. You've quite a sum on you already, there must be something nice you can buy before you go exposing yourself AND your sacks to the whims of the weave.

Wow, that's a lot of potential cash. Have you tried to outfit all availaible characters and see if there's anything left that we can safely sell, knowing it won't be needed in the final battle? Seems to me like we could afford another item or two by selling some of the superfluous stuff. And while I'm on the topic of availaible characters and gold, any progress on recruiting a high-lvl cleric for resurrections? These might have been adressed in the main thread but the forums are currently inaccessible to us lesser, accountless folk.

Wow... that robe, just... that robe... This is probably the first time I'm inclined to admit that the game's balance is broken in our favour. Now I just wonder what the other side of the modding community (the other bent on killing us) is about to show and whether or not it will be enough to hinder this party in any way.
On another topic: In'm kinda disappointed on ho you handled the Drow armour. Would storing it in the extradimensional armoury and later selling it to a merchant make the game stutter, or did you think it would be exploiting game mechanics?
Finallly: Wow, even in this party and this equipment Shart-Eel doesn't seem to be able to stick around for long. It took her what, two updates to get herself killed?

D. Expert. The only way to make this guy even remotely useful. Losing backstabs shouldn't be a problem given your playstyle, and his stats are just too mediocre for him to make a difference with any other kit. Besides, this will be a nice change of pace from sending the meatshield to activate al the traps, and should let you save on healing spells, thus prolonging your adventuring day. Not to mention let you use less potions during combat. And our two high-constitutioned (I'm not sure this is even a word, english is stil a bit less than intuitive at times) members will sure be thankful. After all, we wouldn't want our totally-not-overgeared-(that sword...)-paladin or our NOT-DRIZZ'T Chosen friend to get peppered by arrows, burned, electrocuted, turned to glop or insta-killed, now would we?

GODDAMNIT, MODDERS, STOP TESTING MY INNER POWERGAMER!!!

This... Just... Hahahahahahahaha... ha... I just have no words for this. Was this one of the "chance to kill a dragon on hit" weapons, or was this dragons health just this pitifully low? Because if it's the second then it's just... sad. After all the crazy stuff modders have thrown at us so far, I really expected something more... formiddable. Now.. do we have anything actually challenging ahead of us?

Slots for spells and special abilities, items only given character can use? You should ask on the SA forum, too, maybe they have more ideas.

My inner powergamer is truly, truly disappointed in the voters' decision. While not the worst kit (that goes to Saurial paladin), it gives almost no benefits at this level (one extra pip into two-handed swords, and even that's only if Vorgen uses Shadowkeeper to relocate the pip from something else), and seeing as he probably won't get into BGII, he'll never get to the point where the kit would actually prove useful (Karsomyr). Luckily, he'll probably never reach the level at which his disadvantages show (paladins get spells at lvl 9).

On an unrelated note, do you think you could link more detailed character sheets to the chapter of heroes, Vorgen? It'd be a lot of help to me if I could help proficiencies and resistances when deciding who I should vote for in the party composition.

Thanks for clarifying that, Vorgen. Regarding your post on SA about selling the extra items, I'd suggest keeping track on which are not needed, but only selling them when you're about to buy something/burn yet another hefty sum for yet another resurrection. Otherwise... well, we all know how it goes: wild surge, unlucky throw, goodbye to all that hard earned gold.

E. Cavalier- probably best for dragonslaying, those remove fears will probably save your ass. Just one question: I probably missed something, but weren't there other paladin subclasses in BGII? Inquisitor and Undead Slayer, I believe? Not that any of them would be any good against a dragon, but I just wondered why they weren't among the choices. BTW, you have an amazing pace with those updates, hope you'll keep it up. And just for all the people raising cries of outrage at this "imbalanced" character kit and that "overpowered" item or spell: this game's about to throw an effin' dragon at us, before any char in our party's even lvl 10. Balance this.

My OCD tells me that raising them is the best option, since not doing it could potentially lock you out of some of the best original NPCs in BG2, and some of my favourites. And we'd lose the modded-in content for them, and one of the aims of this LP is to show it off, isn't it? Besides, I imagine that after all the changes introduced by your BWP the encounter should be brutal enough to leave many of the underliked and thus underleveled characters splattered all along the floor/ turned into dust by disintegration.

I made a quick check, and it seems that raise dead can't rez people who have been dead for more days than a caster has levels. So perhaps make it so we only resurrect as many people as possible within those restrictions, and leave the question of who gets bought back to life to the popular vote. Then again, that would mean that at this moment both Eldoth and Montaron are deader than the dodo. I don't think there's a chance any of our clerics gets Resurrection by the end of this game, now is there?

On the topic of the final confrontation, will you treat all the NPCs that fall in the last battle as deader than disco, or just the ones that get gibbed? Since you say there will be a possibility to bring back Eldoth and Montaron (as tragically underlevelled cannon fodder for the last fight, this should be amusing) I figured  that If one or more of our divine casters gets Raise Dead before that moment we can explain the reappearace of those who stay in one piece in the sequel by the cleric(s) being put on a several-week-long rezzing duty.

I'm also all for updating the game to the newest version. More imbalanced items and kits, even more imbalanced encounters and general modded-in wackiness.

On an unrelated topic, I see many people on both forums consider thieves redundant, what with priests' detect traps and mages' knock, especially since you don't seem to be too fond of backstabbing, but does a rogueless party have any means of safely disarming traps, or is it just "throw the guy with most hit points/best saving throws at it and hope the trap's damage isn't enough to kill/gib/it isn't a disintegration trap?

I'll just see you people talk about op kits after next few near-total or just total party kills. Come on, we've been through hell already, and all signs indicate that the modders haven't even finished warming up yet. Haven't really had thet much experience with BG1 mods, but Vorgen mentionned that the game intends to throw A FUCKING DRAGON at our <10 average level party. "Imbalanced kits" aren't breaking the game, at this point, they're a prerequisite for survival.

EIGHT PEOPLE voted FOR skipping the sidequests in favour of progressing the plot :wall:? What the hell, people, this is not how cRPGs work! B is the only option and anyone who thinks otherwise is objectively wrong.

As far as the team setup is concerned, I was torn between downvoting Shart-Eel and upvoting Faldorn, when I noticed we have no thief in our setup. That is unacceptable. Coran almost has enough points to make it into the team, but his detect traps and open locks is pitifully low. So I'm voting +5 Safana. I also hope someone downvotes Edwin, another arcane spellcaster is kinda redundant and Kagain's relatively low number of votes puts us in danger of losing our only dedicated frontline fighter.

PS. @William Imm you've seen all the game has thrown on us, and you still believe something like an overpowered kit exists? Ha. HA. Ha. At this point all the "imbalanced" equipment and kits are merely a way to survive with barely acceptable losses.
